Shoretel integration with Ascom nurse call system, issues with the Ascom softkey GUID

We have configured and tested the Ascom DECT d62 handsets according to the Shoretel whitepaper TPP: 10111 and registered them successfully. The problem now is that Ascom has programmed a softkey on the handset to answer the bed call plus de-escalate the room indicator. This involves a string of characters for Shoretel to pass to a Mediatrix gateway then to the Ascom sytem. The string looks like this(from a .pcap using the D&M): sip:6214*665523497%23@(some IP address). The number 6 is the SIP trunk access code and the 214 is the room number and the *665523497%23 is the GUID that needs to pass to the Ascom system. According to Ascom the '*' and %(which %23 is supposed to be the ASCII for the '#') are being stripped off by Shoretel. We have put in and tested different custom dial plans but nothing has worked. Just wondering if anybody has come across something similar or has any ideas on what might causing this or if Shoretel is really doing this at all. Thanks

Can you do a packet capture on the other side of the ShoreTel to prove if it is indeed stripping the characters?

Sorry for the late reply. Ascom confirmed on their end with a packet capture that the special characters were being stripped off. Because of the time sensitive implementation Ascom had to put in place an IP38 device between the Shoretel and the Mediatrix which allowed through rules to re-insert the special characters. It would be nice to find a solution through Shoretel though.
